In 2012 I got involved with the NBEMS Calaveras Digital Net and learned all about FLDigi and sending various files, images and ICS-213 forms back and forth.
This struck me as an important capability in Emergency Communications scenarios, so when the net got thin due to inactivity, I was very happy to discover the ORCA Digital HF Net. I’m still very active on this growing net a few years later!
WANT TO GET STARTED? FIRST INSTALL THIS SOFTWARE, (you only need FLDigi to start with) THEN LOOK UP ORCA.
Here’s a spin-off traffic net from ORCA that I created and NCS with the help and support of ORCA ops! The Western Digital Net puts what we learn on ORCA into action for amateurs in the Western USA / Canada / Pacific.
